week 2 - Exploration!

I bought new pens, and more paper!  I had hoped to find more staedtler pens, but could only seem to find the liner pens in color.  So I settled on a set by Copic:

The set contains point pens from 0.003 up to 1.0 and 2 different brush tip pens.  I tried them out as stippling pens.

So far, not a fan of stippling or cross-hatching.  When I draw I typically like to use outlines, cross contour and some cell-shading.  so those are the techniques I will focus on next.

Cel-shading (toon shading)

(cross contour with heavy outlines)

(outlines)

Over the course of the weekend I will be drawing a few of the same objects using the 3 aforementioned techniques for comparison.
